Q: Do I have to turn my chair into a chair?

A: The sky is the limit! Be as creative as you can. You can create anything—a chair, a light fixture, a bar cart, even a car! There are no limits or restrictions on the amount or types of material you’re using.  

Q: Can we go over the $100 provided?

A: The originally purchased item should fall within the $100 range, anything beyond that is up to you and your team! (in short, yes!)

Q: Any restrictions on the material, size, etc?

A: No restraints! However, sustainable or recycled materials are always encouraged. Just make sure the item fits in your category!

Q: Can we add on to the object we find?

A: Yes! Add as much or as little as you’d like. Take it apart, rebuilt it, anything!

Q: Can we get more than 3 yards from DESIGNTEX?

A: The first 3 yards will be donated to you; Designtex will be extending a discount for the additional yardage.


Q: What if our item doesn’t make the deadline?

A: If you think you’ll miss the deadline, please reach out to us and we will figure something out.

Q: When do I need to finish my item?

A: September 29th. Submit images and videos to be presented to a jury. More details on this process to follow.

Q: How can I raise money through sponsors?

A: You may reach out to ANYONE to request donations for your chairs. These donations will be considered “sponsor” donations. You will simply send a link to your Classy.org page, where your sponsors will fill out a form online and can donate there. The chair that raises the most sponsor donations will receive a grand prize!

Q: Is there a fundraising minimum required?

A: No minimum! Based on previous years, we recommend each team sets a goal of $3K-5K.

Q: How do we fundraise?

A: Direct your friends and family to donate to your Givebutter.com page.

Q: What is the general fund?

A: All donations to the general fund will be distributed equally to the participating non-profits.

Q: Do we need to have a partner to create our submission?

A: No, but if you would like to partner with a manufacturer, go for it. If you want to do your own thing, go for it!

Q: What to expect?

A: Drinks, apps, entertainment, and of course…the auction! Followed by an after-party.

Q: Dress code?

A:Gallery Chic (creative cocktail meets modern art). Sleek black with a pop of color, bold prints, or something you’d wear to a museum after dark. Make it your canvas.

Q: Can I bring guests?

A: All registered team members are on the guestlist by default. Additional attendees may purchase a ticket to join! General ticket sales will begin mid-September.


Q: Are tickets free for team members?

A: Tickets are free to those who fundraise at least $100 as an individual.
